SECOND ANNUAL ROME CURLING EXPERIENCE SET SATURDAY AT FORUM ON ICE

Have you ever had the urge to learn the sport of curling?  The Atlanta Curling Club will offer Romans an opportunity to do just that on Saturday morning at the Rome Curling Experience.  The event will take place at the Forum On Ice at the Forum River Center.  All of the registration fees for this year will go to the Hospitality House for Women, Inc.

Registration is available online at www.atlantacurlingclub.com, according to Dr. Dixon Freeman, local physician and member of the Atlanta Curling Club.  The cost to participate is $15.  Activities will begin around 8:15 am and wrap up around 11 am.  Participants in the Rome Curling Experience will learn the basics of curling such as sweeping during each hour-long session, asserts Dr. Freeman.

Some of Saturday’s sessions have already sold out.  Dr. Freeman encourages those interested in participating in the Rome Curling Experience to register in advance online.  Walk-up space may be available to those who do not register ahead of the event.

Dr. Freeman adds that his own curling journey culminated with participation in the Can-Am tournament in Canada back in November, in which the USA’s Curling Team emerged as the victors.

The Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism has stepped up to serve as the sponsor of this event. The Atlanta Curling Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; learn more about it on the website.
