If you need to just get away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites are ready to welcome you.
Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, encourages holiday revelers to visit www.gastateparks.org to learn about Winter offers that will be available until January 31st, including 25 percent off yurts each Sunday through Thursday, as well as discounted golf getaways.
Some parks will have Christmas lights on display throughout the holidays to illuminate visitors’ celebrations. The holiday slate of events for this year will once again include First Day Hikes on January 1, 2020. There are more than 40 hikes from which to choose; details are available on the website, indicates Hatcher, who asserts that winter is an optimal time to venture out and explore nature.
The Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site has scheduled a Last Day Hike for Tuesday, December 31st at 4 pm. A complete listing of events for the holiday season is featured on the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites website.
