BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER SET FOR JANUARY 4TH

Now that Christmas has come and gone, are you looking for a way to get rid of your live Christmas tree?  Bring One for the Chipper on Saturday, January 4th!  The event will take place from 10 am until noon in the parking lot of the Home Depot, 103 Hicks Drive.

Bring One for the Chipper is an initiative of Keep Georgia Beautiful that will again be conducted locally by Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful.  Trees will either be chipped into mulch or used as fish habitats.  Free seeds and seedlings will be given to those who dispose of their Christmas trees at the event, according to Emma Wells, KRFB Director.

If you are unable to attend Bring One for the Chipper on January 4th, you can leave your trees at the Home Depot parking lot prior to the event, adds Wells, who indicates that those who live in the City of Rome may also leave trees at their curbs for pick-up.

Wells adds that Keep Rome Floyd Beautiful is in the midst of exploring more ways to engage the public for the purpose of a cleaner community in 2020. If you would like more information, visit www.keepromefloydbeautiful.org.
