ROME-FLOYD PARKS AND RECREATION TO HOST FIRST DAY HIKE ON JANUARY 1ST

Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation will host a First Day Hike on Wednesday, January 1st from 10 am until noon at Lock and Dam Park, 181 Lock and Dam Road in Rome.

The interactive hike covers approximately two miles along the Coosa River and through the Coosa River Nature Preserve.  Participants will learn about the region’s river history and geology, as well as identify flora and fauna.

Upon conclusion of the event, hikers are invited to the Trading Post for some hot chocolate.
