The impending arrival of a New Year means that a brand new session of the Georgia General Assembly is on the horizon. State legislators will officially begin their work under the Gold Dome in Atlanta on January 13, 2020.
State Representative Katie Dempsey indicates that she and her colleagues are already preparing for what she anticipates will be a busy 2020 for state, local and federal lawmakers.
Dempsey urges Rome and Floyd County residents to visit the State Capitol in Atlanta during the upcoming legislative session. Activities of the state House and Senate will be posted online at www.legis.ga.gov.
Contact information for each state legislator is also available on this website. Dempsey serves the 13th District in the Georgia House of Representatives.
Today is the day that Johnny Isakson will leave the US Senate. He holds the distinction of being the lone Georgian ever to be elected to state House, state Senate, US House and US Senate, according to a release from his office.
