AAA:  GAS PRICES ROSE ONCE AGAIN ACROSS GEORGIA

Gas prices continue to rise across Georgia, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group, which reports that motorists statewide currently pay the average price of $2.46 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline.  That’s four cents more than this same time last week, three cents more than last month and 41 cents more than last year.

It now costs $36.90 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline.  That’s $5.70 less than what motorists paid in May of 2018, when pump prices hit that year’s peak of $2.84 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA Spokesperson, indicates, “The majority of states saw gas prices increase in the last week – some by as much as a nickel to a dime.  Americans may be concerned that it is due to the conflict in the Middle East; at this time, it is just too early to speculate.  The impact to consumers will be dependent on how expensive crude oil prices go and the duration at which the crude sells at the higher price point in the market.”

Sunday’s national average was $2.58 per gallon of regular unleaded.  That is one cent more than this time last week, one cent less than this time last month and 34 cents more than this time last year.
