January is National Mentoring Month. Communities in Schools of Rome and Floyd County is using this observance as an opportunity to recruit a few good mentors to have an impact on the lives of local students.
Gregory Wooten, CIS Executive Director, enthuses that becoming a mentor is a great New Year’s resolution.
Training will be provided to those who would like to become a CIS mentor, adds Wooten. A mentor may work with a student of any age group and at any school in Rome and Floyd County.
Mentors have an impact on both the academic and personal success of youth. For more information about opportunities to serve as a mentor or to volunteer for Communities in Schools of Rome and Floyd County, call (706) 802-5740 or visit www.cisrome-floyd.org.
