MODEL HIGH SENIOR IS A CANDIDATE IN 2020 US PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Brylen Cantrell, a senior at Model High School, has been named one of more than 4,500 candidates in the ’20 US Presidential Scholars Program, according to a Floyd County Schools media release. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from high schools across the US in the year 2020.

Approximately 600 semifinalists will be chosen in early April. Scholars will be announced by the US Department of Education in May.

Scholars will be invited to Washington DC for several days in June to receive the Presidential Scholars Medallion at a recognition ceremony and participate in special events and activities.
