HAWKS TOP WIZARDS AS BOTH TEAMS JOIN NBA IN MOURNING THE DEATH OF KOBE BRYANT

The Atlanta Hawks beat the Washington Wizards 152-133 on Sunday evening at State Farm Arena, which allowed the Hawks to even the four-game season series between the teams at 1-1.

Trae Young led the charge for Atlanta with a game-high 45 points, along with 14 assists. It was an emotional night for Young and many others in mourning over former NBA star Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash along with eight others on Sunday morning near Los Angeles.

Bradley Beal was the Wizards’ leading scorer of the evening with a total of 40 points.

The Hawks improved to 12-35 with their highest-scoring game of the season. They will return to action on Tuesday night in Toronto with an outing against the Raptors; tip off is set for 7:30 pm.
