AAA: PUMP PRICES DECLINE BY SEVEN CENTS IN GEORGIA

Georgia’s gas prices decreased during the past week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists across the state are now paying an average price of $2.30 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline. That’s seven cents less than a week ago and 14 cents less than a month ago, but 16 cents more than at this same time last year.

It now costs $34.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That’s $6.60 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA spokeswoman, says, “Increased total domestic stocks of gasoline have helped to ease pump price. Typically, we see lower demand during this time of year. When combined with the higher stock levels, pump prices usually decrease in response.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.47 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is five cents cheaper than last week and 11 cents less than at this same time last month, but 22 cents more than a year ago.
