HAWKS FALL TO CELTICS AT STATE FARM ARENA

The Atlanta Hawks were defeated by the Boston Celtics 123-115 on Monday night at State Farm Arena, allowing the Celtics to take a 2-0 lead in the three-game season series between the teams. It was the second straight loss for the Hawks and the fourth straight win for the Celtics.

Trae Young notched a game-high 34 points for injury-plagued Atlanta. It was his 25th game with at least 30 points for this season. Kevin Huerter scored 23 points. John Collins had 22 points and 11 rebounds. Jeff Teague contributed 18 points.

Jayson Tatum led the charge for Boston with 28 points. Gordon Hayward had 24 points, while Jaylen Brown scored 21 points.

Atlanta remains tied with the Cleveland Cavaliers for last place in the NBA’s Eastern Conference at 13-38. The Hawks will be in Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves this Wednesday night at 8 pm.
