SEVERE WEATHER PREPAREDNESS WEEK CONTINUES, THREAT OF STORMY WEATHER DOES ALSO

The observation of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Georgia continues today with a focus on Lightning Safety. The week will conclude with a focus on Flash Flooding and Flood Safety on Friday.

Severe Weather Preparedness Week is spearheaded statewide by the Georgia Emergency Management/Homeland Security Agency in cooperation with the National Weather Service. Severe weather preparedness tips may be obtained online at www.ready.gov.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for our area that remains in place through Friday morning at 7 am. The forecast calls for showers, possibly thunderstorms.
