FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN PLACE THRU 1 PM THURSDAY

The Greater Rome area remains in the midst of a Flash Flood Watch through this afternoon at 1 pm, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers are expected to taper off this evening and will be followed by sunny skies and cooler temperatures on Friday and Saturday. However, showers are back in the forecast for Sunday and into next week.

An additional .85 inches of rain fell at Rome’s Russell Regional Airport from Wednesday afternoon through early this morning.
