AAA: GAS PRICES ROSE SLIGHTLY LAST WEEK IN GEORGIA

Gas prices in Georgia increased slightly last week, according to a report from AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying an average price of $2.28 per gallon of regular unleaded. That is one cent more than one week ago, 15 cents less than this time last month, and 10 cents more than this time last year.

It now costs $34.05 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That’s $7.05 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA Spokeswoman, asserts, “Last week, more than half of all states saw gas prices decrease. Georgia motorists can expect pump prices to remain low in the coming week.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.44 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is one cent less than one week ago and 12 cents less than one month ago, but 14 cents more than at this same time last year.
