AAA: GAS PRICES HAVE RISEN BY THREE CENTS IN THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices have risen by three cents in the past week, reports AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide now pay an average of $2.30 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, three cents more than a week ago, seven cents less than this time last month, and two cents more than at this time last year.

It now costs $34.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That’s $6.60 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA Spokeswoman, indicates, “Gasoline prices are likely to fluctuate in the coming weeks, but not drastically, as winter driving season nears its end and refineries undergo maintenance. This is the typical trend at this time of year.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.47 is three cents more than at the same time last week, five cents less than last month and eight cents more than last year.
