‘SOCIAL DISTANCING’? PERHAPS IT’S A GOOD TIME TO CATCH UP ON YOUR READING!

Many people are following the guidelines by the CDC to lay low and observe ‘social distancing’. This is a prime time to read a book, according to Kenneth Studdard, owner of Dogwood Books in downtown Rome. Studdard indicates that his store offers plenty of space in which to shop for new reading material while ‘social distancing’.

Studdard asserts that it is indeed good to be informed, but it is not wise to be consumed by the daily news. Reading is one means by which to take a break from the headlines. As author Stephen King once said, “Books are a uniquely portable magic”.

Dogwood Books recently relocated to 231A Broad Street (which is across the street from their old location). Last weekend, Studdard celebrated the store’s 13th anniversary of business in downtown Rome. If you would feel a bit safer shopping online, you can do so at www.dogwoodbooks.net.
