A MESSAGE FROM ROME CITY COMMISSIONER WENDY DAVIS AMID THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK – STAY HOME AND WASH YOUR HANDS!

Here is a message from Rome City Commissioner Wendy Davis as we begin this new week – even if you are considered an essential worker, stay home as much as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you must get out for any reason – such as to go to work or to the grocery store – be sure to observe social distancing.

Extreme measures of protection are necessary right now because coronavirus can be lethal, asserts Davis, who also encourages Romans to wash their hands frequently.

The state of Georgia now has a COVID-19 hotline which may be reached at (844) 442-2681. If you think you are sick, Davis urges you to call this line as opposed to visiting your physician.

Davis urges locals to help each other out as much as they can amid this health crisis. For instance, order take-out from local restaurants which have taken a significant hit in recent days. Davis asserts that by working together, we can get through this.

In an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus, both the Rome City and Floyd County Commissions last week approved ordinances which call for residents to shelter in place (aside from essential workers). The answers to Frequently Asked Questions, as well as each ordinance, may be viewed on the joint city-county website at www.romefloyd.com.
