Rome’s Downtown Development Authority encourages locals to continue to support downtown restaurants amid the current health crisis. While they are unable to welcome their patrons to dine in person at this time, many of them are offering curbside delivery and take-out.
Megan Otwell, the Director of Public Relations for the Rome DDA, says that a list of downtown restaurants with take-out and curbside service options has been posted online at www.downtownromega.us, as well as on Facebook.
As soon as the coronavirus crisis ends and we can all once again emerge from our homes, Otwell hopes that droves of Romans will head downtown to shop, dine, and play. For now, just stay at home. If you have the urge to shop, take advantage of online shopping offered by downtown merchants.
The Downtown Loft Tour that had been scheduled for this weekend has been postponed; the new date has yet to be determined. Otwell asserts that updates regarding the Ellen Axson Wilson Arts Fest and the ’20 Downtown Saturdays series will shared on social media and on the website; as of now, those events will proceed as planned.
