ENJOY THE OUTDOORS THIS SPRING, JUST MAINTAIN A SOCIAL DISTANCE TO PREVENT SPREAD OF COVID-19

Has the arrival of Spring given you the urge to spend some time in the great outdoors? The shelter in place orders approved last week by city and county officials allow for exercise outside your home, says Kristi Kent, the Director of Communications for the City of Rome (and the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism). Just make sure that while you engage in this essential activity, you observe social distancing to help curb the spread of COVID-19. All groups of 10 or more are prohibited. Kent reminds people to maintain a distance of six feet between one another, whether on the trails, at the store or on the job at an essential business.

Everyone in Rome and Floyd County needs to stay healthy as possible at this time, asserts Kent; exercise is a key component of that.

Kent encourages locals to check out www.romegeorgia.org for some family-friendly activities that will entertain and allow for social distancing. Official government information pertaining to COVID-19 may be obtained online via www.romefloyd.com.

The shelter in place ordinances which are now in effect for Rome and Floyd County will remain in place through April 7th at 11:59 pm, unless extended by city and county leaders.
