OVER 10,000 CONFIRMED CASES OF COVID-19 NOW REPORTED IN GEORGIA

Over 10,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 (or coronavirus) have now been reported in Georgia by the state Department of Public Health.

There were 10,204 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of Wednesday evening, according to the latest report from the DPH. There were a total of 370 deaths. In Floyd County, there were 97 confirmed cases and three deaths. Fulton County led the state in the number of confirmed cases with 1,261. The highest number of deaths was reported in Dougherty County, which has had a total of 62.

The DPH updates their COVID-19 daily status report twice per day – at noon and at 7 pm in order to provide the most current numbers available. It may be viewed online at www.dph.georgia.gov.

Another fatality due to coronavirus has been reported in Floyd County at the Rome Health and Rehabilitation Center, though it is not included in the latest DPH report.
