WEAR A MASK, KEEP SOCIAL DISTANCING TO CURB THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS

Whenever you leave home in the coming days to perform essential activities, wear a face mask. This is the latest recommendation by the CDC to curb the spread of coronavirus. Wearing a face mask is especially important whenever social distancing is difficult to maintain, according to Logan Boss, the Public Information Officer for the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Northwest Health District.

Boss even suggests that you practice social distancing at home; keep at least six feet between you and others, just like in public. And don’t forget to wash those hands frequently!

Now is the time to double down on efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19, adds Boss. Social distancing is an effective tool in that battle.

If people continue to stay at home and practice social distancing, perhaps we can slow the trajectory of this virus and return to normality sooner rather than later, asserts Boss.

Testing capability increases regularly in Northwest Georgia, states Boss. The priority remains on high-risk individuals such as the elderly, people who have underlying health conditions, healthcare workers and first responders.
