The Georgia Department of Public Health has reported that there were a total of 12,550 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 7:30 pm on Sunday evening. There were 442 fatalities due to coronavirus. There were a total of 108 confirmed cases and five fatalities here in Floyd County. Fulton County led the state in number of confirmed cases with 1,495. The highest number of fatalities was reported in Dougherty County, which had 72.
The DPH updates the COVID-19 daily status report twice per day – typically around noon and 7 pm – in order to provide the most current numbers that are available. It may be viewed online at www.dph.georgia.gov.
Governor Brian Kemp is scheduled to provide an update on COVID-19 today at the State Capitol in Atlanta. He will be joined by DPH Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey, Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency’s Director Homer Bryson, and the Georgia National Guard’s Adjutant General Tom Carden. Georgians may watch a live stream via the Governor’s Facebook page of the briefing, which is set for 4 pm.
