AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO DECLINE

Georgia’s gas prices continue to decrease, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying an average of $1.67 per gallon of regular unleaded. That’s four cents less than last week, 34 cents less than last month, and $1.01 less than last year.

It now costs $25.05 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That is $16.05 less than what motorists paid in April 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, AAA Spokeswoman, indicates, “Every US region is seeing builds in gasoline inventories and crude storage; that drives pump prices even cheaper.”

As Americans follow stay at home orders and refineries continue to produce excess gasoline, gas prices will likely continue to decrease this week, asserts Waiters.

Rome is among the least expensive metro markets in Georgia with an average gas price of $1.48 per gallon.

The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded decreased by five cents over the week to $1.81 on Sunday; that’s $1.02 less than at the same time last year.
