CRBI IS ROLLING WITH CHANGES NECESSITATED BY COVID-19 OUTBREAK

The Coosa River Basin Initiative has been rolling with the changes that have been necessitated by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director, asserts that it is important to take necessary steps to stay connected to CRBI supporters so that they may stay informed (and involved with) efforts to ensure cleaner water.

The local riverkeeper has been offering educational activities and films with an environmental theme on their website at www.coosa.org and through their social media outlets. These resources are compiled by Outreach Coordinator Ashley Ray and include live webcams from Explore.org, states Demonbreun-Chapman.

Paddle trips which had been scheduled for this spring and summer have been cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak. Demonbreun-Chapman hopes to have at least one trip in the not-too-distant future; however, shuttle service will not be offered after the trip, as it is not conducive to social distancing.

The Coosa River Basin Initiative is a 501c3 grassroots environmental group based here in Rome with a mission to protect, preserve and restore the upper Coosa River basin.
