DPH: NUMBER OF CORONAVIRUS CASES IN GEORGIA IS NEARING 29,000

The number of coronavirus cases across Georgia is approaching 29,000, per the state Department of Public Health. The death toll is just under 1,200.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 28,942 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state as of 5:30 am this morning. There were a total of 1,183 fatalities. Here in Floyd County, there were 148 confirmed cases and 11 deaths. Fulton County led this state in confirmed cases with 3,026; it also had 124 fatalities. The highest number of fatalities was reported in Dougherty County, which has had 125.
