NUMBER OF CORONAVIRUS CASES IN GEORGIA EXCEEDS 30,000

The number of coronavirus cases across Georgia has exceeded 30,000 as the death toll is nearing 1,300, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 30,032 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 5:30 am this morning. There were 1,295 deaths due to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 151 confirmed cases and 11 fatalities. Fulton County led the Peach State in number of confirmed cases with 3,170 and in fatalities with 130.

Governor Brian Kemp and the DPH announced Tuesday that there are now a total of 66 active COVID-19 specimen collection sites around Georgia. This state has added 19 sites in the past 11 days, including one-day-only sites, with plans to open additional sites in the coming days.
