GEORGIA’S TAX REVENUES FALL -35.9 PERCENT IN APRIL

The state of Georgia’s net tax collections totaled nearly $1.84 billion in April for a decline of $1.03 billion, or -35.9 percent, compared to April 2019, when the net tax collections $2.87 billion, according to a release from the Office of Governor Brian Kemp. Year-to-date net tax collections totaled $19.23 billion for a decline of nearly $680 million, or -3.4 percent, in comparison to the last Fiscal Year, when net tax revenues totaled $19.91 billion.

Changes within several tax categories in April were largely attributable to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
