AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES ROSE SLIGHTLY DURING THE PAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices have risen slightly over the past week, reports AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide are now paying an average of $1.66 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline. That’s two cents more than a week ago, two cents less than last month, and 99 cents less than this time last year.

It currently costs motorists $24.90 to fill a 15-gallon tank of gasoline. That is $16.20 less than what motorists paid in April 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, Spokeswoman for AAA, says, “Pump prices are fluctuating throughout the country as demand increases and gasoline stocks increase. The boost in demand continues to push the pump prices up around the country, as more states re-open businesses.”

The national average of $1.88 per gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is four cents higher than a week ago, six cents higher than a month ago, and 97 cents less than this time last year.
