RESTORATION ROME RE-OPENS, SEEKS DONATIONS FOR FOSTER FAMILIES

Restoration Rome has re-opened its doors after being closed for a time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Mary Margaret Mauer, co-founder, states that the non-profit, located at 1400 Crane Street, is open on weekdays from 9 am until 5 pm (and sometimes over the weekends). This has been a controlled re-opening, she adds.

Community members have been very generous to Restoration Rome in these challenging times, asserts Mauer. Churches, businesses, and individuals have stepped up to provide for the needs of the organization, which serves as a hub for foster, adoption, family and community services.

Restoration Rome is now seeking items that will be included in care packages for foster families. This offering is a part of the local observation of National Foster Care Month, which is observed annually in May.

Mauer welcomes the public to bring games, puzzles, hand sanitizers, masks, and gift cards for these care packages to Restoration Rome. Donations will be accepted through next Wednesday.
