TWO ARRESTS MADE IN CONNECTION WITH DOUBLE HOMICIDE

Two have been arrested in connection with the double homicide investigation in Rome, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Desmond Lavonta Brown, age 28, was arrested on Monday. He has faces the misdemeanor charge of obstruction of a police officer. Devin Lashawn Watts, age 36, was arrested on Tuesday. He has been charged with theft of receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

These arrests were made in connection with the discovery last Wednesday of two bodies under the Etowah Bridge off the Rome bypass. The deceased have since been identified as 19-year-old Vanita Richardson and Truvenia Clarece Campbell, age 31; the pair were sisters.
