GOVERNOR KEMP UPDATES GEORGIANS ON COVID-19

Governor Brian Kemp delivered a COVID-19 update on Thursday afternoon at the State Capitol in Atlanta. He announced that bars and nightclubs will be allowed to re-open on Monday, June 1st, provided that they comply with strict sanitization and social distancing guidelines. Professional sports may resume at that time, along with overnight summer camps. School districts around the state may begin offering summer classes next month. In addition, the number of people allowed in gatherings will be increased from 10 to 25. Amusement parks may open on June 12th. Kemp has also renewed the Public Health State of Emergency through July 12th. Thursday’s update went live and may still be viewed on the Governor’s Facebook page.
