MORE THAN 48,000 INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS IN GEORGIA, KEMP PROVIDES UPDATE ON PROTESTS, VIRUS

Over 48,000 have been infected with coronavirus and the death toll stands at just over 2,100 in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 48,207 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of just before 6 pm on Thursday night. There were 2,102 deaths related to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 274 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Fulton County reported this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 4,638, as well as the most fatalities with 242.

Governor Brian Kemp was joined by state officials on Tuesday afternoon for a press briefing at the State Operations Center down in Atlanta.
