ROME DDA URGES LOCALS TO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS AS WE CONTINUE TO TRANSITION TO A ‘NEW NORMAL’

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority has a message for every local as this community continues to transition to its ‘new normal’ in these days of the coronavirus – support local business!

Megan Otwell, Director of Public Relations, encourages Romans to shop and dine downtown as an act of support for the businesses that have taken quite a hit from this pandemic.

The first two events of the Downtown Saturdays series for 2020 that were set for June and July have been cancelled as a precautionary measure. These are usually a huge economic shot in the arm for downtown businesses. The DDA aims to make up for that loss by offering giveaways on social media featuring the wares of those businesses, asserts Otwell.

In other news from the Rome DDA, Amanda Carter, Executive Director, has announced that she will soon resign her post to assume ownership of Whistle Britches, a downtown business. Carter’s last day at the helm of the DDA will be on June 12th.

Otwell additionally urges Romans to follow Downtown Rome, GA on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
