CRBI WORKING TO HELP LOCALS SAFELY HIT THE WATER OVER THE SUMMER

The Coosa River Basin Initiative is resuming its bacterial monitoring of local waterways for the summer. Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman, Executive Director, asserts that the goal is to inform the public of the safest places to paddle. The results of these tests will be posted online at www.coosa.org, as well as in the local newspaper.

This is a time of year when the CRBI and its supporters usually hit the water for a plethora of paddle trips. The CRBI paddle trip program has been halted for this year. Demonbreun-Chapman indicates that it was a tough decision to make.

A meet-up paddle trip has been scheduled for Saturday, June 20th for which a shuttle will not be offered, adds Demonbreun-Chapman, who encourages the public to stay tuned to the CRBI’s website and social media outlets for further details. Boats will be made available to those who do not have them.
