NWGA REGIONAL CANCER COALITION AIMS TO MAINTAIN THE FUNDS TO CONTINUE TO OFFER SCREENINGS AND MORE TO THE COMMUNITY

The Northwest Georgia Regional Cancer Coalition aims to maintain enough funds to remain viable in the community amid the days of coronavirus, states Erin Hernandez, Executive Director, who is working with state legislators to ensure support (and funding) for her organization during this time when state revenue is down. Funding is necessary to provide low-cost or free screenings to the community, adds Hernandez.

The Coalition has also been working alongside 100 Black Men of Rome and Northwest Georgia to make plans for the 2020 Health Initiative for Men and Women in August. Hernandez echoes the sentiments of Dr. Gary Voccio, the Director of Georgia Department of Public Health, Northwest Health District, that many people will be in great need of the screenings offered at the Health Initiative. So stay tuned for details, coming soon!
