ROME CITY COMMISSIONER WENDY DAVIS URGES ALL LOCALS TO VOTE TODAY (IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY); COMMISSIONERS HOLD VIRTUAL MEETING

Wendy Davis, Rome City Commissioner, encourages residents of Rome and Floyd County to get out and vote today (if you have not already voted).

Absentee ballots will still be accepted through 7 pm this evening. Davis says that these ballots may be taken to one of the drop boxes located outside of the Elections Office at the Floyd County Administration Building on East Fourth Avenue or at the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway.

If you requested an absentee ballot and have not already cast it, you may vote in person today, assures Davis.

Rome City Commissioners gathered virtually via Zoom on Monday evening. The meeting was livestreamed and may still be viewed on Facebook; search for City of Rome, GA – Government. Among the action from that gathering – Commissioners voted 5-3 against an ordinance amendment that would have temporarily permitted the public consumption of alcohol in downtown Rome; the measure was intended to provide an economic shot in the arm to some of the businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
