More than 53,000 people in Georgia have been infected with coronavirus, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 53,249 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 3 pm on Tuesday. There were 2,285 deaths due to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 335 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Fulton County led the state in number of confirmed cases with 4,925, as well as fatalities with 272.
