Coronavirus testing is still being offered to Rome and Floyd County residents at West Rome Baptist Church, 914 Shorter Avenue, according to Logan Boss, the Public Information Officer for the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Northwest Health District. Pop-up sites also appear at various locations from time to time for the benefit of vulnerable populations that are unable to make it to the church.
Anyone who wishes to be tested is encouraged to do so, whether you exhibit symptoms of the virus or not. Boss asserts that about three and a half percent of the population in Northwest Georgia has been tested.
Boss indicates that coronavirus cases have been trending downward in recent weeks, though the virus could remain a threat into next year.
