Nearly 55,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state’s Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 54,973 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 3 pm on Thursday afternoon. There were 2,375 fatalities related to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 356 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Fulton County lead the state in number of confirmed cases with 5,031 and fatalities with 273.
