ROME-FLOYD CHAMBER CONTINUES EFFORTS TO ASSIST LOCAL BUSINESSES IMPACTED BY COVID-19

The Rome-Floyd Chamber continues efforts to assist local businesses which have been impacted by COVID-19.

Jeanne Krueger, President and CEO, refers business owners to the COVID-19: Business Triage featured on the Chamber’s website at www.romega.com. It includes information on the Community Development Block Grant Funds offered by the City of Rome.

The Chamber is also helping businesses to navigate the forgiveness of federal loans via the Paycheck Protection Program. PPP borrowers now have through December 31st to restore workforce and wages to pre-pandemic levels that are required for full forgiveness, as opposed to June 30th.

PPP borrowers have now been given five (instead of two) years to repay any unforgiven portion of the loan, adds Krueger. The interest rate remains at one percent.

The Chamber’s COVID-19: Business Triage also features information about locations in Rome at which to find PPE (personal protective equipment), says Krueger.
