More than 59,000 people have been infected with coronavirus while the death toll has exceeded 2,500, per the state Department of Public Health.
According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 59,078 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon. There were 2,529 deaths related to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 375 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Gwinnett County led the state in confirmed cases with 5,451. Fulton County led the state in fatalities with 295.
