Here is a coronavirus survivor story, courtesy of Floyd Medical Center –
Josh Penson walked out of FMC on his own two feet this past Friday, after he was hospitalized for almost two months with COVID-19. Friends, family and and hospital workers cheered as he exited the front entrance.
Josh’s wife, Tiffany, credited Dr. Daniel Valancius with saving her husband’s life and expressed gratitude to other caregivers that aided in his recovery. She said, “Everything they have done, it works. He’s proof that it works.”
After a few days at Floyd, Dr. Valancius sent Penson to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. At Piedmont, Penson was connected to a machine which helped his heart and lungs overcome the strain imposed on them by COVID-19. He was there for two weeks before heading back to Floyd Medical Center. According to Tiffany, “Then they brought him back here and started working with him. I think he was even doing rehab before he left the COVID unit. And here we are 57 days later, and we get to come out of the hospital.”
