FLOYD EMA DIRECTOR: COVID-19 TESTING REMAINS AVAILABLE TO AREA RESIDENTS

Coronavirus testing is still available free of charge in Floyd County from the Georgia Department of Public Health, asserts Tim Herrington, Director of the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency, who also indicates that quite a few residents from surrounding counties have taken advantage of drive thru test sites here locally.

Herrington says that the results gathered at the test sites and at local hospitals give first responders and health officials a closer look into the current state of the virus in our area.

Georgia hasn’t experienced significant spikes in coronavirus as of late to the extreme of states like Florida or Texas. But this is not a time to let our guard down against the virus, says Herrington. So keep social distancing, wearing that mask, and washing those hands.
