NORTHSIDE SWIM CENTER TO OPEN SATURDAY WITH SEVERAL PRECAUTIONS DUE TO COVID-19

The Northside Swim Center will officially open for 2020 this Saturday, June 27th! However, there will be several changes to pool operations for this year due to concerns over COVID-19.

The pool, located at 501 Kingston Avenue, will be open on Tuesday through Sunday and will offer two sessions a day, each limited to two and a half hours and 75 people, says Jim Alred, Recreation Services Manager for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.

Session one is from 11 am to 1:30 pm. Session two is from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. The pool area will be cleaned between sessions.

No chairs or pool toys will be available for use. Patrons may bring their own bag chairs, but must follow social distancing guidelines.

Cost per session is $3 per person, regardless of age. The admission fees will be taken at the pool via card only; no cash accepted. Admission is also first-come, first-served for the 75 patrons each session. Check the weather before you head to the pool – no rain checks will not be offered if a session has to be cancelled due to inclement weather.

The pool and lifeguards will be following the state guidelines with regards to COVID-19 for cleaning and enforcing social distancing. Regulations prevent classes or pool rentals at this time.
