NEARLY 80,000 PEOPLE IN GEORGIA HAVE NOW BEEN INFECTED WITH CORONAVIRUS

Close to 80,000 people in Georgia have now been infected with coronavirus, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 79,417 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 3 pm on Monday afternoon. There were 2,784 deaths related to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 502 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Gwinnett County reported the highest number of confirmed cases in the Peach State with 7,755. Fulton County has had the most fatalities with 312.
