KEEP PETS CALM AMID 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAYS

The 4th of July is just a few days away. While humans may enjoy celebrating America’s birthday with fireworks, many pets can be traumatized by resulting loud noises.

Dr. Dan Pate, owner of the West Rome Animal Clinic, encourages pet owners to keep pets calm amid fireworks displays. Bring pets indoors and, if needed, give them a mild sedative (as directed by your veterinarian).

The Northwest Georgia Veterinary Emergency Center will be open during the upcoming holiday weekend, indicates Dr. Pate. It is fully staffed for holidays, nights and weekends. In the unfortunate event that an emergency arises with your pet, visit the center at 111 John Maddox Drive in Rome.
