MORE THAN 81,000 GEORGIANS HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH THE CORONAVIRUS

More than 81,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 81,291 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide as of 3 pm on Tuesday afternoon. There were 2,805 deaths related to the coronavirus. In Floyd County, there were 514 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Gwinnett County reported this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 8,082. Fulton County has had the most fatalities with 312.

The Rome Circuit Public Defender’s Office reopened on Tuesday, after being sanitized over the weekend. The majority of the staff have returned, while all remaining staff must have a negative coronavirus test prior to returning to the office, this according to a Floyd County release. The employee who recently tested positive for the virus remains under quarantine.
