MORE THAN 84,000 GEORGIANS HAVE BEEN INFECTED WITH THE CORONAVIRUS

More than 84,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Georgia, per the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest report by the DPH, there were 84,237 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon. There were 2,827 deaths related to the virus. In Floyd County, there were 539 confirmed cases and 15 fatalities. Gwinnett County had the highest number of confirmed cases in the Peach State with 8,362. Fulton County has had the highest number of deaths with 314.

Governor Brian Kemp began a flyaround tour of Georgia on Wednesday with a goal of encouraging residents statewide to “Wear a Mask” to stop spread of COVID-19 before Independence Day weekend. US Surgeon General Jerome Adams and DPH Commissioner Dr. Kathleen Toomey have joined Kemp for the tour, which makes its way to Dalton, Augusta and Brunswick today.
