CAVE SPRING 4TH OF JULY PARADE – THE SOCIALLY DISTANCED EDITION – IS ON FOR SATURDAY

Do you love a parade? How would you like to be in a parade? Then be part of the 35th annual Cave Spring 4th of July Parade on Saturday morning! It will be the socially distanced edition of this long time tradition.

Christa Jackson, organizer of the parade, indicates that it was tough to decide whether or not this event should be held this year due to community concerns over the coronavirus. CDC guidelines will be followed to ensure safety of all participants and spectators.

Participants should line up from 8 am to 8:45 am. Wheeled vehicles will line up on Perry Farm Road, and the walkers will gather at Joe Hill’s Lawnmower Shop at the Old Depot on Alabama Street. The parade may be watched from downtown on the Square and along Alabama Street.

Jackson urges all in attendance to wear masks. And spectators should spread out along the viewing area.

Masks will be provided to people that do not have their own. The parade will get underway promptly at 9 am.

Cave Spring’s 4th of July Parade began with Jackson and her young sons back in the mid 1980s. For most of those years, Jackson has walked in the parade as Lady Liberty; in 2020, Lady Liberty will be in a vehicle from a safe social distance.
