AAA: GEORGIA’S GAS PRICES HELD STEADY LAST WEEK

Georgia’s gas prices held steady last week, according to AAA, The Auto Club Group. Motorists statewide paid an average price of $2.00 a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline on Sunday. That’s the same price as the previous week, 11 cents more than a month ago, and 65 cents less than last year.

It now costs $30 to fill up a 15-gallon tank of gasoline; that’s $11.11 less than what motorists paid in April of 2019, when pump prices hit last year’s peak of $2.74 per gallon.

Montrae Waiters, a spokeswoman for AAA, states, “The Energy Information Administration’s data shows gasoline demand and supply continue on a roller coaster ride. As motorists react to unfolding COVID-19 information, we are seeing driving behaviors related to filling-up ebb and flow.”

Sunday’s national average of $2.19 per gallon of regular unleaded was a cent more than the week prior, nine cents more than last month, and 59 cents less than last year.
